With a strong emphasis on career opportunities in government and allied sectors, the department focuses on developing students’ technical expertise relevant to modern agricultural practices. Campus recruitment training begins in the second year, ensuring students are well-prepared for future careers.
Equipped with a team of experienced faculty, advanced laboratories, and a 5-acre farm, the department provides comprehensive hands-on learning experiences. The labs are well-furnished with modern equipment, including the Soil Science and Agronomy Lab, Farm Machinery and Equipment Lab, Tractor sysstems and control lab, Agricultural Process Engineering Lab, Soil and Water Conservation Lab, and Dairy and Food Engineering Lab.
Collaborating with the Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers (ISAE), students remain updated on emerging trends and innovations in the field. To enrich academic learning, the department regularly conducts industrial tours, giving students practical exposure to diverse agricultural systems, landscapes, and technologies. This experiential learning is further strengthened through cultivation activities on the department’s 5-acre farm, where students grow rice, vegetables, and cereal crops under expert guidance.
