Department of Petroleum Technology
Established in 2011, the Department of Petroleum Technology offers B. Tech in Petroleum Technology and Ph. D in Petroleum Engineering programs, emphasizing Drilling, Production, Reservoir, and Petroleum Geology.
The department focuses on developing industry-ready professionals through innovative teaching, research, and advanced laboratory training.
Strong collaborations with the oil and gas industry enable students to participate in workshops, seminars, consultancy projects, and summer training at reputed organizations such as ONGC, Reliance, HPCL, and BPCL. Leading companies like OFI, L&T, and Tech Mahindra actively recruit through campus placements.
The department features modern computational labs with CMG, MATLAB, and ASPEN HYSIS, and specialized labs in Drilling Fluids, Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Analysis, and Process Control. Located in the heart of India’s oil basin, it was among the first to offer a Petroleum Technology program in Andhra Pradesh. Through partnerships with bodies like IICHE, it provides holistic exposure to the evolving energy sector.
