Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) was established in 2001, coinciding with the inception of the institution. From an initial intake of 60 students, the department has witnessed remarkable growth, now offering a total undergraduate intake of 840 students, a postgraduate program in VLSI Design with an intake of 12, and a Doctoral Research Program.
With a strong commitment to academic excellence and innovation, the department is supported by a highly qualified faculty team of 74 members, including 44 doctorates, who continuously engage in teaching, research, and industry collaboration. Over the years, the department has evolved into a vibrant hub of learning and research, producing graduates who excel in academia, industry, and entrepreneurship.
The department’s key strengths lie in its robust academic foundation, industry-aligned curriculum, and focus on skill development. Through strategic MoUs with leading organizations such as Altera (An Intel Company), NASSCOM, Blackberry-QNX, Tessolve Semiconductor Pvt Ltd. And Texas Instruments. Students gain access to training in the latest industry-relevant technologies.
The department fosters a comprehensive laboratory and research ecosystem that bridges theory and practice through well-established facilities such as Digital Signal Processing Lab, Electronic Devices and Circuits Lab, Communication Systems Lab, Analog and Digital Circuits Lab, Liner IC Applications Lab, Project Lab, Research and Development Lab, Microwave and Optical Communications Lab, Advanced Circuit Testing Lab, Advanced communication Engineering Lab (Sponsored by MODROBS, AICTE), IoT lab, ECAD (VLSI) Lab. These laboratories provide hands-on experience in areas spanning from core electronics and signal processing to cutting-edge domains like embedded systems, FPGA-based design, and smart IoT applications. This integrated academic and research environment nurtures innovation, technical competence, and interdisciplinary learning—preparing students to become future-ready professionals capable of contributing effectively to the ever-evolving electronics and communication industry.
The Department of ECE provides a dynamic environment that encourages students to excel beyond the classroom through a blend of academic, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities. Every year, the department proudly organizes VEDA-SPART, a National-Level Technical Symposium held on the occasion of Engineers’ Day, offering students a platform to showcase their technical innovations, creativity, and leadership skills. Under the IETE Student Forum (ISF), students actively engage in professional development programs, technical workshops, and competitions that enhance their practical exposure and networking capabilities. In addition, the university provides campus-wide access to Coursera and LinkedIn Learning, empowering students to upskill with globally recognized certifications in emerging technologies. A dedicated Project Lab further nurtures innovation and hands-on learning, enabling students to translate their ideas into real-world solutions and interdisciplinary projects. Through these multifaceted opportunities, the department ensures holistic student development—academically strong, professionally competent, and socially responsible. With continuous support from the Technical Hub, students are trained in coding, problem-solving, and placement readiness—resulting in outstanding placement records, including offers with packages up to 28 LPA.
